Karachi is a huge city in southern Pakistan, on the sea. It used to be the capital, and it is still the country’s main port and a great industrial centre — factories, ships, money, and a vast number of people. The capital moved inland to , but Karachi did not become small; though actually, it became even more the workshop and doorway of the country. If goods come into Pakistan by ship, they often come through Karachi. English uses this spelling; the name is Pakistani, from the local languages of that coast. In news you will hear it as a megacity: heat, crowds, business, and sometimes or flooding. It is in Pakistan, not in India.
組成From Urdu کراچی and Sindhi ڪراچي, from an older name Kolachi, after Mai Kolachi, a woman the settlement is named for.
