    Juliet is the young woman at the centre of Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet. She loves Romeo, whose family is an enemy of hers, and the story ends sadly. In English her name can stand for that kind of girl in a love story that cannot work, and people still say a Romeo and Juliet story for two lovers whose families will not allow it. Juliet is also an ordinary girl's name, like Julia, but this entry is the character. Though actually, in the NATO spelling alphabet Juliet is the word for the letter J, which is how pilots say J clearly so nobody hears it as A.
