Jujitsu is a Japanese way of fighting with your own body. You hold the other person, throw them, lock an arm or a leg, and sometimes hit. The idea is to use their movement against them, not only to be stronger. In English you will also see jiu-jitsu and ju-jitsu; they are the same word, written in different ways after it was borrowed. Though actually, what most young people mean now is Brazilian jiu-jitsu, a sport that grew from this and is mostly fighting on the ground. came from the same kind of art, but it became a sport with different rules. The word is normal in sports talk, not slang.
柔術
組成Not built from English pieces. Borrowed from Japanese 柔術 (jūjutsu): ju is 'soft / yielding' and jutsu is 'art / skill'. English already had a spelling with jitsu in 1875, before the later standard way of writing Japanese in English had settled.
