JSA is Jobseeker's Allowance: money the British government pays to people who have no work and who are trying to find work. You usually have to show that you are looking. It is a UK word and a UK system. Taiwan's 失業給付 is a cousin idea, not the same rules and not the same name. Though actually, a lot of this kind of help in Britain now goes through a newer payment called Universal Credit, so you will meet JSA more in older news, in forms, and in talk about the years when it was the main word. People used to say “the dole” for money you get when you have no job; that is looser and older. JSA is the official short name for that British job-seeking payment.
