Jenga is a game with a tower of 54 small wooden blocks, stacked in layers of three. On your turn you pull one block out from somewhere in the tower and put it back on the top. The tower gets taller and more shaky. The player who makes it fall loses; the last person who took a block out without bringing it down wins. It is a brand name, so it is written with a capital J, but people use it for any game of that kind. Though actually the name is not an English word at all: it was taken from Swahili -jenga, meaning to build. In a living room it is noisy, funny, and a little tense. Adults play it too, often after dinner — it is not only a children's toy.
