ITN is Independent Television News, a British news company. It makes television and radio news for other people to broadcast — including ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5, and some independent radio stations in the UK. You may not always see the letters ITN on the screen the way you see BBC; often ITN is the workshop behind a bulletin that another channel shows. For students in Taiwan, BBC and CNN are the foreign news names you meet first. ITN belongs to that same world of British news, but it is a supplier, not the whole public BBC. It has nothing to do with “IT” as in computers, and it is not a general word for “internet news.”
