1. 1

It'd is a short spoken form of two different things, and you only know which one from the rest of the sentence. It'd = it would, when you are talking about an idea, a guess, or something that is not real yet: It'd be nice to rest. It'd = it had, when you are looking back, usually with a third word like been, gone, or already: It'd been raining all morning. In careful writing, people often open it back up to it would or it had. You hear it'd a lot in speech and in friendly writing. The stands in for the missing letters. It is not its (belonging to it) and not it's (it is / it has).
