    Invitingly tells you how something appears or is done: in a way that pulls you toward it. A door may stand invitingly open. Cake may smell invitingly of chocolate. Someone may smile invitingly — though actually that last use can feel a little charged, as if the person is drawing you in on purpose, so writers choose it with care. It is an ordinary adverb, a little literary in longer sentences, but easy to picture.
