- 1
Intimacy is a feeling of closeness with another person — being able to be honest, comfortable, and open with them, without pretending. It can be emotional (sharing feelings and secrets) or physical (being close to someone's body). We talk about intimacy in close friendships, family, and especially romantic relationships.
