Interlaced describes things already joined that way: parts of one going over or around parts of the other. Interlaced fingers. Interlaced branches. Interlaced gold threads on a jacket. It is the -ed picture of the verb — the weaving has already happened. You will meet it in craft, art, and careful description. Though actually, with old TVs and some screens, interlaced also names a way of drawing the picture in two passes, line by line; that is a tech stretch of the same “over and under” idea, and you only need it if you are talking about screens. For everyday English, keep the woven picture.
組成interlace (to weave together) + -ed (already done). Same Old French path as interlace: inter- + lacer, “to weave.”
