Borrowed from Late Latin intellēctus 'understanding', from intellegō, from inter 'between' + legō 'read'.
源自拉丁文 intellēctus，來自 inter「之間」加 legō「讀」。
組成inter- (between) + -lect (from Latin "legere," to choose or gather) — the idea of sorting and choosing between things in your mind.
