INLA is the short name for the Irish National Liberation Army. It was a small unofficial army in Northern Ireland that wanted the north and the south of Ireland to be one country, and it used violence to try to get that. People often mix it with the IRA, a bigger group with a similar goal; the INLA is smaller, and many people saw it as more extreme. Unlike the IRA, it did not support the Northern Ireland peace talks of the 1990s in the same way. This is a name from news and history, not a word for daily life.
