Inject, in the most direct sense, means to push a liquid (often medicine) into someone's body using a needle — 'the nurse injected the medicine into his arm'. From this physical action, English also uses 'inject' in a wider, figurative way, meaning to suddenly add something new and needed into a situation — you can inject money into a struggling business, inject some humor into a boring meeting, or inject new energy into a team. In both uses, the feeling is the same: something is added quickly, directly, and it makes a real difference.
① 注射、打針 ② (比喻)注入、加入(資金、活力、幽默等)
