Ingloriously means in a way that brings shame and dishonour — how something happens when it is inglorious. A plan can fail ingloriously: not with a brave last try, but with a mess, a lie, or a whimper. It is a formal word, more for writing than for talk. In speech people often say or in disgrace. Though actually, news writers love it for sport and : the campaign ended ingloriously. Do not use it to mean quietly or without fame. The shame is always in the word.
