    Infatuation is the feeling itself: a strong love, or a strong interest, that is not very reasonable and often does not last long. People use it for a crush that burns hot and then cools — a person you barely know, or a thing you suddenly cannot stop thinking about. Next to lasting love, this is the short, kind. The word is a little formal. In easy talk people say a crush, or “I was crazy about them.” Though actually, while you are in it, it does not feel short or silly; it feels like the most important thing in the world.
