If someone is indomitable, you cannot break their will. They have great determination or courage and they keep going. It is almost always praise: an indomitable spirit, an indomitable team. It does not mean they win every time, and it does not mean they are rude or refuse every rule. It means they do not stay down. The word comes from Late Latin indomitabilis: in- (not) plus a verb for taming, from Latin domo, 'to tame'. On the surface it is in- + domitable — not able to be tamed.
