An in-game purchase is money you spend for things that exist only in the game; an in-game event is a special thing the game runs for players; in-game chat is talking to other players while you play. People use it a lot with video games and phone games. Though actually some speakers stretch it to board games or even sport, the usual modern meaning is the world on the screen. It is everyday talk among players, not a fancy word. You mostly put it in front of a noun: in-game money, in-game item, in-game story.
