In-depth means thorough: you look at all the details, not just the surface. An in-depth report tries to explain the whole story. An in-depth interview takes time. Newspapers, teachers, and doctors like the word because it signals serious work. It almost always sits in front of a noun: in-depth analysis, in-depth coverage. Though actually, sometimes stick in-depth on quite thin pieces, so the word can promise more than you get. And after a verb, English often drops the : We discussed it in depth. Same idea, different slot in the sentence.
「in-depth」形容做事徹底、仔細，會看到所有細節，而不只停在表面。例如「in-depth report」指把整件事說清楚的深入報導。這個字幾乎都放在名詞前面，像是「in-depth analysis」（深入的分析）、「in-depth coverage」（深入的報導）。
