In-between means in the middle — not this side and not that side. It can be a place, a size, a time, or a feeling, as when you do not fully belong to either group. You can put it in front of a noun: an in-between size, an in-between stage. You can also use it as a noun: he is an in-between. Though actually, people are messy with the spelling. As a preposition, English usually wants two words: The café is in between the bank and the school. The is more for the “middle kind of thing” meaning. You will still see both, and nobody at the bus stop is checking the .
「in-between」指在中間，不屬於這一邊，也不屬於那一邊。它可以形容地點、尺寸、時間或感覺，例如你不完全屬於任何一個群體的時候。它常放在名詞前面，例如「an in-between ＿＿」，像 an in-between size（中間尺寸）、an in-between stage（過渡階段）；也可以當名詞用，例如 he is an in-between（他是介於兩者之間的人）。
