This is the noun: the quality of being hard to believe, and so probably not true. A story can have an implausibility — a hole that makes you go “wait, that cannot be.” talk about “the implausibility of the ending.” It is softer than impossibility: impossible cannot happen; implausibility means you would not bet on it. Formal. Though actually, in casual talk we more often say that does not sound likely than this long noun. People also use it when a coincidence in a film feels too neat.
