Impetuously tells you HOW someone acted: they did the thing in a rush, without stopping to think first. He spoke impetuously; she impetuously said yes. The adverb does not mean “very” or “a lot” — it means “in that sudden, way.” The same shade as impetuous sits here: not mere speed, but speed with feeling shoving from behind. In careful writing it still sounds a little formal; in speech people more often say she just did it without thinking. You can use it of a kind act as well as a foolish one: someone may impetuously offer to help, and mean it, and only later see they cannot. The word is about the manner of the moment, not about whether the ending was good.
