A big lizard from the warm parts of the Americas — Central and South America and the Caribbean. Green iguanas are the famous ones: they can grow well over a metre long counting the tail, they have a row of spines down the back and a loose flap of skin under the chin, and they climb trees and eat leaves and fruit. They look like small dragons, which is why people notice them.
