The Iceni were an ancient people in the east of Britain — the area we now call East Anglia — about two thousand years ago. They are remembered because their queen, Boudicca (you may also see Boudica, or the older school-book spelling Boadicea), led them in a rising against the Romans after the Romans treated her family very badly. The fight was fierce and famous; the Romans then crushed it. You meet Iceni in history, not in everyday talk. The name is what Latin writers called the tribe. It is not ice + anything, even though the start of the word can trick your eye.
