An iceman was a man whose job was to bring blocks of ice to people’s houses, so they could keep food cold in an icebox. This was before most homes had electric fridges, so you mainly meet the word in stories about the past, especially American ones. It is a plain job-word, like : ice + man. The work itself has almost disappeared, so the word feels old-fashioned. People do still use Iceman as a nickname (for a very cool, hard person, or for a famous frozen body found in the mountains), but that is not this job. The dictionary sense here is the man who delivered ice.
