A how-to is a set of steps that tells you how to do one practical job: how to change a tyre, how to bake bread, how to set up a phone. It can be a noun — ‘I found a how-to’ — or it can sit in front of another word: a how-to video, a how-to book, a how-to guide. The is the usual spelling. It is informal, useful, and very common online. It is not a full course and not a story; it is ‘do this, then this.’ Older people may still say instruction booklet or manual for the same kind of help; younger people often just say a how-to.
how-to 是一組步驟，告訴你怎麼完成一件實用的事，例如換輪胎、烤麵包、設定手機。它可以當名詞用，例如「I found a how-to」；也可以放在別的名詞前面，形成「a how-to ＿＿」，像 a how-to video、a how-to book。通常寫成帶連字號的 how-to。
它的語氣口語、實用，網路上很常見。它不是完整的課程，也不是故事，就是照這樣做，再做那個。年紀大的人可能還會說說明書或手冊，年輕人則常直接說 how-to。
