If you are horror-struck, a shock has just hit you: you are suddenly very , and for a moment you cannot quite move or speak. It is a feeling in that instant — a stopped step, a silent face. You will also hear horror-stricken, which means the same thing; horror-struck is a little shorter and common in stories. Though actually, it is for a sudden mix of fear and shock, not for a slow worry that lasts all week. You are horror-struck when you see or hear something now. You are not horror-struck about an exam next month.
