Horrifically is the adverb: in a horrific way, or to a horrific degree. The building was horrifically damaged. He was horrifically . Same warning as horrific — it is a heavy word. In loose talk people also stick it in front of an adjective to mean “very, very” (horrifically expensive), the way they do with terribly. That stretch is common, though a careful speaker still keeps it for things that are actually awful.
