Homeshoring is a company word for this: work is done by people in their own homes, on the phone or on the internet, not in an office. It was built next to offshoring. Offshoring sends jobs to another country. Homeshoring keeps the jobs in the same country, but the “office” is the worker’s house — often call-centre or computer work. Though actually, most people today just say work from home or remote work. Homeshoring belongs to business talk from the years when bosses argued about call centres. It is not a kitchen-table word, and it is not homeschooling, even though both start with home.
