1. 1

A hit-and-run accident is one in which a driver hits a person or a car and does not stop to help. That is against the law, and in the news you will hear hit-and-run driver or hit-and-run accident. You will see it as a describing word (a hit-and-run driver) and as a noun (a hit-and-run). People also stretch it for a quick attack that is over before anyone can answer — in sport, in war, even in an argument: you strike and you leave. Though actually, when you hear it on the radio here, it almost always means the traffic crime, not the sports move.

    肇事逃逸(交通);打帶跑(運動,或借來說快攻快撤)
