Hinduism is the main religion in India, and one of the world's oldest living faiths. People who follow it are Hindus. Many Hindus believe that life comes around again after death — that is reincarnation — and that what you do shapes what comes next. Though actually, it is not one small, tight set of rules. It has many gods, many holy books, and many ways of living, and people inside it do not all believe the same things in the same way. It grew on the large land that includes India, and Hindus now live all over the world. It is a name, so it takes a capital H. In everyday English it is calm and factual, not slang and not a word of praise or blame by itself.
