The Himalayas are a long, vast range of mountains in southern Asia, running through countries such as India, Nepal, , China (Tibet), and Pakistan. They hold the highest mountain on Earth, Mount , and many other peaks that only very experienced try. English usually says the Himalayas, with “the.” You also hear the Himalaya for the range as a whole. For most people the word means that huge wall of snow mountains north of India, not one single peak. is one mountain inside the range; the Himalayas are the whole chain.
