    A highchair is a tall chair for a baby or a very young child at mealtime. It has long legs, so the child sits up at table height, and it usually has a small tray in front and a strap so the child does not slip down. Parents use it at home and in restaurants. Everyday English. You may also see high chair as two words; dictionaries often write it as one.
