- 1
When something is heartwarming, it makes a warm, happy feeling rise in you — not because you won a prize, but because you watched people be kind, or you saw someone who was having a hard time get help, or a family found each other again. A film, a news story, or a small moment on the street can all be heartwarming. It is a soft, kind word; people use it a lot in reviews and online. Though actually, if you call too many things heartwarming, it can start to sound a bit thin, like advertising. The feeling is real; the word is sometimes used too easily.
