A hazelnut is the small, round nut that grows on the hazel tree. The shell is hard and brown; inside is a sweet, nut people eat roasted, in chocolate, in cakes, and on ice cream. Shops sometimes also say for a very similar nut; for a student they are close enough. The tree name hazel and the eye colour hazel (green-brown) sit in the same family of meaning: the colour was named after the nut. It is not a peanut, and it is not a walnut.
榛果(中國大陸較常說「榛子」)
