    Haymarket is a street in the West End of London. There is a famous theatre on it, also called the Haymarket (Theatre Royal Haymarket). Long ago it really was a market where people sold hay for horses. Though actually, nobody sells hay there now. It is theatres, offices and busy traffic. Students sometimes mix it up with Haymarket in Edinburgh, which is a different place. In a London theatre review, “the Haymarket” almost always means this West End street and its theatre.
