A handstand is when you put your hands on the ground and your legs in the air, body straight, head down — you stand, but on your hands. People do it in gymnastics, yoga, and as a party trick. You can do a handstand or hold a handstand. It can also be a verb: to handstand. Unlike a , you are not flipping over. You stay upside down and try not to fall. Beginners often practise against a wall. It is a simple, clear sports word; nobody uses it as a metaphor for work or management.
