A handloom is a small machine for weaving cloth by hand, not with electric power. You sit at it, send the thread across, and pack it in, and the cloth grows slowly. Craft rooms and some villages still use them. A factory does the same job much faster; the handloom is the older, quieter one. Though actually, in some places people also say handloom for the cloth itself — cloth made on one of these machines — even though the first meaning is the machine.
