If something is handcrafted, a person made it with skill, by hand, not on a factory machine. The word carries a feeling of care: a handcrafted chair, bag, or piece of jewellery is meant to sound special, and often a little expensive. Handmade is a close everyday cousin; handcrafted turns up a lot on labels and in shops because it sounds proud of the craft. Though actually, some things called handcrafted still use tools, or even some machines — the point people are making is not mass-produced, not never touched a tool.
