In American English, half-and-half is a in the shop: milk and cream mixed about fifty-fifty, poured into coffee or tea. It is richer than milk and thinner than cream. This is a United States supermarket word; British English does not really use it as the name of a dairy product — there, half and half can mean other 50/50 mixes, even two beers. In Taiwan you often will not find the same ; mixing ordinary milk and fresh cream yourself is the idea. It is everyday and informal, not a fancy cooking term.
在美式英文裡，half-and-half 指超市裡一盒牛奶和鮮奶油約各半的混合乳品，倒進咖啡或茶裡，比牛奶濃，比鮮奶油稀。英式英文通常不把它當成乳製品的名稱，而是泛指各半混合的東西。在台灣常買不到同樣的盒裝，自己把一般牛奶和鮮奶油混在一起，就是同樣的概念。它是日常、非正式的說法。
