Guinevere is the queen in the old stories of King Arthur. She is Arthur's wife. The stories also say she and Sir Lancelot, one of Arthur's knights, loved each other, and that this secret helped break the circle of the Round Table. Different treat her kindly or : in some she is trapped in a marriage, in some she chooses. The name came into English as Gwenyver in the Middle English years. Though actually, Jennifer is the same name on another path — two English shapes of one older name, not two different women.
