Grime is dirt that has built up over a long time and is stuck onto a surface - dark, greasy, hard-to-clean dirt, like the grime on an old oven or a city window. 'Grime' is also the name of a music genre from East London in the early 2000s - fast, energetic rap over electronic beats.
