Greenwood is an old, poetic word for a forest, especially in summer when the trees are thick and green. You won't hear it in everyday conversation — English speakers today just say 'forest' or 'woods'. You'll mostly meet 'greenwood' in old stories and songs, most the stories of Robin Hood, who is often described as living 'in the greenwood' with his men, hiding from the law. So the word carries a feeling of freedom and adventure, not just trees.
