A grange is a large country house with farm buildings around it — barns, a yard, land. In Britain you meet it in old houses and place names: The Grange on a map is often just that kind of home, not a palace and not a tiny cottage. The word feels a little old and story-like; few people say it about a new house. Though actually, in the United States the Grange can also mean a farmers' club, which is a different thing. Here we mean the house and farm.

組成From Middle English graunge, from Old French grange (a granary, barn, or small farm), from Vulgar Latin *grānica, from Latin grānum, grain. It started as a place for grain, and later came to mean a country house with farm buildings.
