Gramme is a British spelling of gram, the small unit of mass. One gramme is a thousandth of a kilogramme. Packets, recipes, and science classes mean the same little unit either way; the symbol is still g. Though actually, even in Britain, gram without the extra -me is very common now. Gramme looks a little older, or more carefully “British .” It is not a bigger unit and not a different thing. You may also meet kilogramme and milligramme with the same extra letters. In American English, and in most international science writing, gram is the spelling you will see.
