    A goofball is a person who is silly, a bit daft, or always doing , comic things. It is informal, and among friends it is often warm — you are laughing with them, not cutting them down. You might say it of a who puts the remote in the fridge, or a who cannot stop making faces. Though actually, said with a sharp voice it can still sting, because it does call someone foolish. It is not a polite word for a stranger, and it is not a school-essay word.
