    Goodwood is a famous near Chichester, in the south of England. Every summer, usually in late July and early August, people go there for a big week of horse racing. Racing fans and newspapers sometimes call that meeting Glorious Goodwood, because the setting is green and grand and the racing is a highlight of the English summer season. It is a place name, always written with a capital G. When someone says they were “at Goodwood” in a racing context, they mean this course.
