If someone is good-humoured, they meet people and small trouble with a light, friendly heart. They smile easily, they can take a joke, and they do not turn sharp when the day goes wrong. Though you can see humour in the spelling, this is not mainly “funny”. Humour here is an older meaning: a person’s mood, the weather inside them. Good-humoured means that inner weather stays fair. British English keeps the u; American English usually writes good-humored. You use it of people, and sometimes of a remark that stays kind. It is warmer than polite, and softer than cheerful, which can be only a bright face for a minute.
