A god-botherer is a very religious Christian who talks about God so much that other people feel pestered. The word is informal and : it shows the speaker is by this person’s preaching or faith. It is an insult, not a neutral label. You might hear it in British English more than in careful writing. Do not use it about someone whose faith you respect.
