  1. 1怠工（勞資爭議裡故意把工作放很慢；英式說法。美式較常說 slowdown）

    A go-slow is a protest at work. The workers do not walk out and stop completely. They stay, they do their jobs — but they do them as slowly as they can, so the company loses time and money. It is a way of saying “we are angry” without a full strike. You meet this word most in British English, in news about unions and factories. American English more often says slowdown. Though actually, a go-slow is not the same as work-to-rule, where people follow every tiny rule so that nothing moves; a go-slow is simply slow on purpose. It is a noun: they started a go-slow. It is not about driving slowly in traffic.
