If something is glitzy, it looks and attractive because it belongs to that rich, famous, fashionable world — lots of shine, sparkle, and show. A glitzy party, a glitzy hotel, a glitzy dress covered in tiny shiny bits. Like glitz, it can be cool or teasing: the speaker may mean flashy as much as beautiful. It is informal. In careful writing, glamorous is warmer and less about surface sparkle. A quiet garden can be beautiful without being glitzy.
組成From German glitzern ('to glint'). The English noun glitz was later cut back from this adjective.
